The Wheeling Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place early Wednesday morning in the North Park area. 

Around 6:24 a.m., police and fire personnel were called to the North Park Apartments on Eagle Court for a man who was shot multiple times inside an apartment. 

The victim was taken to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital by the Wheeling Fire Department for medical treatment, where he currently is in serious condition. 

Dashae R. Young, 18, of Wheeling is charged with one count of malicious wounding, and 19-year-old Tanya N. Park of Wheeling is charged with possession with intent to deliver. Additional charges could be forthcoming.

Both were arraigned by an Ohio County magistrate earlier today and currently are in the Northern Regional Jail.
