An Ohio man is facing criminal charges after stealing a car in East Wheeling over the weekend.
Around 8:30 a.m., Saturday, police were called to Lind Street for a stolen vehicle report. Police patrolling the area were able to locate the car with the suspect inside on 14th Street downtown.
The suspect, 42-year-old Douglas Grim of Martins Ferry was uncooperative with the officers when approached about the incident. He was taken into custody and taken to the Northern Regional Jail.
Grim is charged with grand larceny and destruction of property.
At the time of the incident, Grim was out on bond on an unrelated matter a month prior with police where he was charged with battery on an officer, obstructing and trespassing.
WPD is also investigating other similar tampering with vehicles and a stolen car case from Saturday. Those incidents remain under investigation.
