Wheeling Police are investigating after a woman was injured by a single gunshot wound around 9:45 p.m. Friday.

Police met the woman in the 1200 block of Chapline Street; however, it’s unknown exactly where the incident occurred. 

The woman was taken to Wheeling Hospital for a minor head injury and later released.

At this time, the victim’s account of what happened is inconsistent with the facts that were presented to officers at the scene. Detectives are continuing to investigate.
