Wheeling Police are investigating a stabbing that happened Wednesday afternoon in Center Wheeling.

Around 12:45 p.m., police and fire personnel were called to the 2200 block of Lane E for a report of a stabbing victim. Moments later, a man showed up at Wheeling Fire Headquarters saying he was assaulted in the area.

A female victim was taken to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital for treatment by fire department paramedics. Their status currently is unknown, and no arrests have been made. Police are continuing to investigate.
