Nothing goes together more than Spring, May Day and flowers.
The City of Wheeling’s Department of Parks & Recreation is joining forces with Making Magic of Warwood to hold a May Day Traditional Bouquet workshop from noon to 3 p.m., Sunday, May 1 at Oglebay’s Hess Shelter. The cost begins at $25.
Those attending will select from an array of bright blooms and Making Magic will provide instruction on how to create a hand tied bouquet. Attendees may add blossoms to a preselected bunch of flowers for an additional $3 a stem.
“Very often, a parks and recreation department is associated with athletics only. I am working to expand the department’s offerings beyond the field or basketball court by adding creative and fun workshops. Keep an eye on our website and social media for this summer’s upcoming activities,” said Director of Parks & Recreation Rochelle Barry.
Those who plan on attending the May Day Traditional Bouquet workshop are asked to register at www.wheelingrec.com, but walkups the day of the event are welcome.
