Wheeling Police are investigating an early morning vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the Fulton area of the city.

Police were called to the 400 block of National Road around 6:15 a.m. for a male victim that was struck by a van and was seriously injured. The pedestrian was taken to Wheeling Hospital, where they remain in critical condition. The driver of the van was not injured.

Based on the initial investigation, the pedestrian was attempting to cross the street when they were struck in the westbound lanes.
 

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office assisted in crash reconstruction. The case remains under investigation by Wheeling PD.
