Open Burn Permits can be obtained by calling the Bureau of Fire Prevention at 304-234-3726, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

BURN PERMIT INFORMATION

  • It is illegal to burn anything except brush
  • Permits are issued for 30 days except when burn hours change
  • Permit holder must notify Fire Dispatch at 304-234-3711 when burning
  • Must have a nearby water source for extinguishing

January & February Daylight Hours Only
March, April & May 5 p.m. – 7 a.m.
June, July, August & September Daylight Hours Only
October, November & December 5 p.m. – 7 a.m.
