Wheeling, WV – It’s Spring in the Friendly City and officials announced today that clean up is set to begin.
Beginning Monday, April 5, 2010, the City of Wheeling Operations Department will be cleaning up the streets around town. Signs with the cleaning schedule(s) are located throughout the city. Motorists are asked to observe the signage.
Director of Public Works Rusty Jebbia said, “We ask that drivers pay attention to the signage as to when parking is permitted and not permitted or when they are asked to park on the opposite side of the street. This allows our crews to have access to the street in order to clean them. With the rough winter we had, some areas are full of cinders and other weather-related debris. We are anxious to start cleaning and hope that drivers will obey the signs.”
The street sweeping will continue throughout the spring and summer months.
For more information on your neighborhood’s cleaning schedule, please contact the Operations Department at (304) 234-3838 or e-mail to
